REGISTER TO VOTE IN DISTRICT 50
If registered, you are a genuine VOTER in Minnesota Senate District 50! IF YOU ARE NOT REGISTERED fill in the little POSTCARD, and mail it right in to Secretary of State Mark Ritchie. You DO COUNT. Be an AMERICAN VOTER — for freedom’s sake stand up for something, speak out and VOTE in every city, state and U.S. election. You’re qualified AND influential if you’re REGISTERED.
Register to vote with the Minnesota Secretary of State by downloading and completing their official Voter Registration form, then mail it to the address on the form at least 20 days in advance of voting. Your local government offices can also register you as a voter too. Here is the address to use if you live in Anoka County; here is the address to use if you live in Ramsey County. Or call Rae! She knows the way to get you involved from the grassroots on UP!
We have two US Senators from MN, Amy Klobuchar and Al Franken. Visit their home offices during the open hours. Be aware of their voting record in Washington, DC. Also look up how Minnesota’s eight US Congressmen and women voted. We have eight U.S. Congressional districts in Minnesota.
Then we have our Minnesota State House of Representatives and our Minnesota State Senate. Every MN House District has a State Representative. Every MN Senate District has a State Senator.
You are in Senate District 50, if you live in HOUSE DISTRICT 50A or HOUSE DISTRICT 50B – or if you live in the following cities: New Brighton, Arden Hills, Hilltop, Columbia Heights, a portion of St. Anthony and portions of Fridley and Shoreview. Check with your city hall if you’re in a divided city! Or look at the map below!
Minnesota State Senate District 50 is part of the greater Twin Cities area of Minneapolis and St. Paul. It covers cities in two Minnesota Counties, Anoka and Ramsey.
Our district greatly influences St Paul and Minneapolis and our entire state. We are part of two of Minnesota’s eight U.S. congressional districts, U.S. Congressional District 4 and U.S. Congressional District 5. Two DFL-ers represent us in Washington — Betty McCollom, and Keith Ellison. Email, call, visit or fax your representatives! (Remember, letters don’t get opened in a timely manner in Washington, D.C. – security is an issue with letters.) Just let your representatives know your values and your wishes. These two congressional leaders work for us right here in MN Districts 4 and 5. They actually ask for our input! Incidently, they are both “paid workers for our district”. They have a salary and an expense account and a great retirement program and insured health care that is often called ‘golden’. Get involved with their calendars and go see and hear them when they have local meetings. We’re all invited! Also, you can say “NO” or “YES” to their voting records in Washington! These two are up for election every two years–last elected in 2008, and again or NOT in 2010. You also might want to remind them of this — say it very nicely of course and remember to thank them for their hard work in areas that work well for us in Minnesota’s Senate District 50! Together we count MORE.
If you live in MN State Senate District 50 you can vote for Rae Hart Anderson for Minnesota State Senate in 2010. Take heart. Make one good change at the Capitol. As we have discovered not every change is PROGRESS. Yet, some changes are progressive, and protect our community priorities. BELIEVE AGAIN — that we can move forward together.
